Our Staff
The Oakville Endoscopy Centre is staffed by a team of highly trained specialist. All of our physicians are fully certified Gastroenterologists and have advanced training used to detect and diagnose colon cancer. In addition to their work at the Centre, some practice at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
Dr Naveen Arya
Dr. Naveen Arya specializes in gastroenterology. A graduate of the University of Toronto (B. Sc, Human Biology) Dr. Arya completed his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario (UWO). After graduating from UWO, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at University Hospital in London, Ontario, where he was Chief Medical Resident in 2001. He received further training in Gastroenterology at the University of Toronto after which he completed two fellowships - one in Therapeutic Endoscopy (advanced endoscopic training) at St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, the other in Endoscopic Ultrasound in Marseille, France. He subsequently has a special interest in endoscopic ultrasound.

Dr Douglas Bair
Dr. Douglas Bair specializes in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He is a graduate of University of Alberta (B.Sc. in Zoology). He then completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at McMaster University where had acted as chief resident at both stages. He then completed a final fellowship in therapeutic endoscopy (advanced endoscopy) at McMaster University.
Dr. Bair is an Assistant Clinical Professor (adjunct) at McMaster University. His primary practice is at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital where he is the endoscopy site lead for Cancer Care Ontario as well as for Halton Health Sciences. He served for many years as the regional endoscopy lead for Central West/Mississauga Halton for Cancer Care Ontario. He has numerous research publications, serves on the editorial board of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and has received research and clinical teaching awards. He has a special interest in advanced endoscopy and quality in endoscopy. He continues to work on the development of the Canadian endoscopy quality guidelines and measures. |
Dr Joe Pham
Dr. Joe Pham specializes in gastroenterology. After completing his undergraduate studies in Human Biology at the University of Toronto, he attended the U of T medical school for four years where he graduated in 2000. After completing a three-year residency in Internal Medicine, he completed a two-year training program in gastroenterology at McMaster University in 2005. In his final year at McMaster, he served as the Chief Gastroenterology Resident. He trained in therapeutic endoscopy at Hamilton General Hospital before joining the gastroenterology program at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in 2006.

Dr Trevor Seaton
Dr. Trevor Seaton specializes in gastroenterology. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. After completing a residency in internal medicine and gastroenterology at McMaster University, he joined the Hamilton Civic Hospitals and the McMaster Faculty of Health Sciences in 1975. Over the past 30 years.Dr. Seaton has served as Program Director in Medicine and Gastroenterology for the University Residency Program at McMaster, as Chief of Medicine and Chairman of MSAC at Hamilton Civic Hospitals, and in various capacities at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster and a consulting gastroenterologist at the Hamilton Health Sciences Centre.

Dr Ronen Behar
Dr. Ronen Behar specializes in gastroenterology. He obtained his Bachelors in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary and then went on to complete his Masters in Biomedical Technology. He attended the University of Western Ontario where he graduated from medical school in 2007. He obtained specialty training in Internal Medicine at McMaster University and served as Chief Medical Resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. He completed a 2 year fellowship in gastroenterology from McMaster University in 2012. He joined Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital as a locum internist/gastroenterologist in 2012.

Dr Michael Fine
Dr. Michael Fine specializes in gastroenterology. He obtained his Bachelors in Human Biology from the University of Toronto and then attended Medical School at the University of Western Ontario. He obtained specialty training in Internal Medicine at McMaster University and served as Chief Medical Resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. In 2018, he completed a 2 year fellowship in gastroenterology from McMaster University where he also served as Chief Gastroenterology Resident. Additionally, he is a locum internist at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Dr Rafaella Profiti
Dr. Raffaela Profiti specializes in gastroenterology. After completing her undergraduate studies in Biology at McMaster University she attended medical school at the University of Western Ontario. She went on to obtain specialty training in Internal Medicine at McMaster University, where she was Chief Medical Resident in her final year of Internal Medicine residency. From there she continued her studies at McMaster University and received further training in Gastroenterology where she served as Chief Gastroenterology Resident in her final year.

Dr Khurram Khan
Dr Khurram J. Khan specializes in Gastroenterology. After completing a Bachelor's of Science degree at the University of Waterloo, he completed medical school and Internal Medicine training at the University of Western Ontario. He pursued specialization training in Gastroenterology and worked as a clinical scholar at McMaster University Medical Centre before being appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2010. He is completing a Master's of Science Degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University. He currently works as a Gastroenterologist at St Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton where he is involved in clinical research and education.

Dr Kristine Ozinuka
Dr. Kristyne Onizuka specializes in Gastroenterology. She attended the University of Western Ontario for undergraduate studies, and then obtained her medical degree from McMaster University. She subsequently completed specialty training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at McMaster University, and then pursued additional subspecialty training in Hepatology at the University of Western Ontario, with exposure to both clinical and transplant Hepatology care.
